As a competent Technocrat, highly experienced in delivering high quality of After sales service,sales and marketing, customer loyalty & satisfaction and technical support, I have built a reputation for my strong ability to contribute to organizational development across a career spread over more than 40 years in Automobile industry.

I have a deep understanding of the automotive industry as well as extensive exposure in Product Management,Technical support, After Sales Service, product support, Sales(Primary and Secondary) and marketing support of automotive products including Pistons/Rings, Diesel and Gasoline Engines, Heavy Earthmoving Equipments and Rotavators. My strengths include service, design, implementation and maintenance of quality control systems & procedures, delivering technical presentations to the customers, imparting technical training and handling & carrying out root cause analysis of customer complaints and sales.

I have effectively liaised with several Vehicle Manufacturers on sales/service, engine design and development and with Stationary Diesel Engine manufacturers for quality control systems. In addition, I have knowledge of ISO standards, TS standards, TPM and 5S.

In my last role as Regional Head-Marketing(OE & Exports), with India Pistons Ltd,a TAFE Simpsons amalgamations group,I am responsible for business enhancement with OEMs for pistons and rings.I have large customer base of Escorts Kubota Ltd, International Tractors, TMTL,Tata motors etc.Besides I am also responsible for Exports.

In my previous role as a Vice President with Benara Bearings and Pistons Ltd,I was responsible for overall business functions of the company including works,outsoucing,institutional sales and After market sales.

Previously I was Head-Product Development with MAHLE Engine Components India Pvt Ltd where I was responsible for all technical related matters at India and Asia level,besides ,technically supporting sales team at all India level. Also, I was entrusted with an additional responsibility of sales RM(North/West) for India After market and took reporting of sales personal at all India level and managing them. Also I was involved in outsourcing of engine components,Vendor Development and interacting with our MAHLE plant in Chennai.

I had also worked with with Shriram Pistons and Rings Ltd. in their Technical services section for 17 years and supported marketing/sales at all India level in the sale of Automotive Pistons/Rings/Pins and Engine Valves besides working in R & D for sometime.

With Escorts Ltd, I gained rich hands on experience in repair and servicing of Earthmoving Equipments and it's components.Knowledge of all Earthmoving systems added to my knowledge base.

I am B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and MBA in marketing.I have also to my credit several certifications on various engines training workshops and management seminars and worked as co-ordinator for TPM.

  • Headed all quality assurance activities of USHA brand Agricultural Diesel Engines & Pumps; product quality verification, up-gradation & maintenance; new product validation; vendor management; maintenance of warranty return & repair ratio within target values; bought-out parts inspection; process improvement; root cause analysis of quality complaints of Diesel Engines and Auto parts; implementation of quality assurance methodologies / standards and benchmarks.

  • AVTEC (Formerly Hindustan Motors), Indore: Conducted engine head assembly, leakage test, fitment of valves & tappet settings and ensured successful rotation of SPRL valve samples in Isuzu (Diesel) 2DE2 model of AVTEC, Indore; Avtec cleared trials and ordered for pilot lot, which enabled SPRL’s entry into AVTEC.
  • Bajaj Auto Ltd., Aurangabad: Auto, Aurangabad reported rails getting bend of their oil rings in their assembly line of their CT 100 model; conducted analysis, modified the tool design for the piston fitment inside the block, explained ring positioning to the client and submitted ring positioning drawing to the BAL R&D; Bajaj Auto accepted the complete consignment and cancelled order for competitor’s products.
  • TATA Cummins, Delhi: Telco, Patparganj complianed piston seizure problem for on Cummins B Series engine; conducted analysis and concluded that the connecting rod’s small end had less piston pin/bush clearance, which led to splitting of connecting rod and piston seizure; Cummins accepted the new product, previously put on hold.
  • Ford India Ltd: India Ltd. complained about piston seizure at their test bench; analyzed complaint and detected pin jamming problem; explained reason to Ford India and ammended assembly POS; Ford India accepted the product; received a letter of appreciation from Ford.
  • Overseas Visit: Visited Iran to resolve product complaints in engine valves and enabled in substantial increase of company business (2010).
  • Overseas Visit: Visited Dubai to resolve product complaints in Ashok Leyland’s FALCON buses and facilitated in acquiring business order (2008).

Demonstrated the trial to the then Air Vice Marshal Mr. Ramdoss, incorporated necessary design changes in the machine; facilitated in the tow tractor being accepted by INS and securing further orders.
  • Agni Missile Project-Installation of Radars: Part of a 2 member team, involved in installing radars for the launch of First Agni Missile at ITR, Balasore at Chandipur site; received appreciations by the Indian Army and ITR team; enabled in acquiring orders for several Escorts Cranes from ITR.
  • RSEB, Jaipur: Repaired a non-functioning Hydraulic System of the ESCORTS (R&R) and attained customer satisfaction.
  • Overseas Visit: Visited Moscow for successful repair/installation of ESCORTS FAUN RT 40 cranes, fitted with 6 BT 5.9 Cummins engine.
